Number Adolescent Boys & Girls using Taking Boxes
Ending Violence Against Women and Girls
Polycom Girls employs innovative, community-rooted strategies to address adolescent challenges, particularly around sex education, safety, and mental health. A key initiative is the “Talking Boxes”, which began in Kibera and has now expanded to three counties (Kwale, Machakos, and Kitui) with support from women representatives and the Kenya Women Parliamentarians Association. These boxes offer safe, anonymous channels for over 3,500 adolescents annually to share concerns, especially around violence and abuse.
Parner Schools
Polycom partners with 50 schools to provide psychosocial support, life skills mentorship, and sanitary products, creating nurturing environments for both girls and boys.
SafeCity App
Through collaboration with RedDot Foundation, Polycom uses the SafeCity app to map and analyze sexual harassment hotspots—receiving over 2,100 reports since 2023
Boresha Binti
The Boresha Binti program, implemented in partner schools, integrates mentorship, sanitary care, and self-expression, empowering girls and challenging harmful norms.
